City of Kwinana Mayor Chain of Office & Pendant 2021.

The City of Kwinana asked George H. Lilley Regalia to design a chain of office and pendant that would represent various aspects of the municipality, including local flora and fauna. The red-tailed black cockatoo was to be the centrepiece of the set of chains. Illustrating the multitude of colours in the cockatoo's feathers was challenging to achieve in raised and recessed metal with enamel colour, and we did not want to over-stylise the design. The result is a detailed pendant with many facets of colour. The custom term bars and ornamental pieces include design references to Kwinana's nautical and industrial heritage.
